Harley E. Thomas
July 27, 1946 — October 24, 2016
Harley E. Thomas, 70, of Middlebury, passed away Monday, October 24, 2016, at Elkhart General Hospital.
The youngest of eight children, he was born July 27, 1946 in Sturgis, Michigan to Ernest and Alice Mae (Fay) Thomas.
On September 6, 1969 he married Mary Jo Grubaugh.
She survives along with four children, Josh Thomas of Middlebury, Shelley (Keith) Kirchner of Monticello, Georgia, Kelley (Donald) Davenport of Oxford, Georgia and Christine (Lucas) Wojtysiak of San Antonio, Texas; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A long time employee of Dexter Axle, Elkhart, Mr. Thomas served in Vietnam with the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Middlebury American Legion Post #210.
A private memorial service has taken place.
