Harlan "Chic" Lantz, 80, of Goshen, died Saturday morning, March 21, 2015 at his home. He was born June 14, 1934 in Topeka to Edward and Lizzie Ann (Yoder) Lantz. On August 31, 1963 he married Charlotte "Petie" Rider in Goshen. She survives along with a daughter, Debbie (Joseph) Brown, of Goshen; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Barbara Ellen (Jake) Stoltzfus, of Goshen; and two brothers, Floyd (Janie) Lantz, of LaGrange, and Omar (Catherine) Lantz, of Goshen. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Delbert and Virgil Lantz, and a sister, Treva L. Miller. A lifelong area resident, "Chic" served in the U.S. Marine Corp. from 1952 to 1956, staying on as a reservist until 1960. He then opened his business Chic Interiors in Goshen. A former Goshen city councilman, and member of Faith Lutheran Church, he was a founder of the Indiana Jaycee Senate. He also was a member of the Concord Rotary, DAV, VFW, and instrumental in planning the local Celebrate America activities on July 4th. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the 10 am funeral service Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at Faith Lutheran Church, Greene Rd. Rev. John Hickey will officiate. Burial will follow at Violett Cemetery, Goshen, where he will be honored for his military service. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made to Faith Lutheran Church, DAV #15, or the VFW Post #985.
