H. Michael "Mike" Sisson

H. Michael "Mike" Sisson, 64, of Goshen, died at his home Sunday afternoon, May 11, 2014, after a year and a half illness. He was born Sept. 5, 1949 in Galveston, to William and Ethel M. (Glassburn) Sisson. On July 14, 1979 he married Mary Ellen Hershberger in Goshen. She survives along with two sons, Andrew M. Sisson of Elkhart and Timothy I. Sisson pf Seattle, Washington; a sister, Phyllis A. (John) Metcalf of Kokomo and a brother, James R. (Jeanne) Sisson of Galveston. He served in the Army Reserves for six years and worked at Blue Star IT, Goshen, as a remote support IT technician/specialist until April 4, 2014. An active member of Harvest Community Church for 35 years, Mike was involved in the music ministry and served as the theater/drama director and writer. He had also served as the Sunday morning technology director, in addition to other positions in the church. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 15, 2014, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home and one hour prior to the 10 a.m., funeral service on Friday, May 16, 2014, at Harvest Community Church. Pastor Steve Chupp will officiate. Burial will follow at Elkhart Prairie Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be made to MDC Goldenrod.
