H. Ernest Bennett, 94, died early Wednesday Morning, November 18, 2009, at Greencroft Healthcare, Goshen. He was born in Cumberland, Maryland, on January 22, 1915, to the late Theoda (Collins) Bennett and Frank Bennett. He married Earla Ruth Hostetter on July 12, 1941, in Pennsylvania. She preceded him in death on November 10, 2008. Mr. Bennett as a member of the Prairie Street Mennonite Church, Elkhart, and he worked as an administrator at Mennonite Board of Missions. He is survived by two daughters, Kathy (Rick) Stiffney, Joan (Todd) Yoder, both of Goshen; one son, Ernest Dale (Millie) Bennett, Castle Rock, Colorado; one sister, Hazel Baer Metzler; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother. Friends may call from 2-6 p.m., Sunday, November 22, 2009, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Friends may also call from 9:30-10 a.m., Monday, November 23, at Prairie Street Mennonite. A procession to Prairie Street Cemetery, Elkhart, will be at 10 a.m., Monday, November 23. An 11 a.m., Monday, November 23, 2009, memorial service will be conducted at the Prairie Street Mennonite Church. Memorials may be made out to the Mennonite Mission Network, Greencroft, and Mennonite Health Services.
