Gwendolyn E. Donat

Gwendolyn E. Donat, 77, of Elkhart and formerly of Goshen, died late Thursday evening, May 24, 2007, at Rosewood Terrace.   She was born in Goshen on July 13, 1929, to Russell and Violet (Kettering) Cripe.  She married Eugene Donat in New Paris on July 17, 1947.  He died August 24, 2005.   A homemaker and a lifetime Goshen resident, Mrs. Donat was a member of the First Brethren Church, Goshen; and the DAV Auxiliary.   She is survived by a daughter, Nancy (Bruce) Yoder of Goshen; two sons, Bill (Pam) Donat of Syracuse and Tim (Gloria) Donat of Riverside, California; nine grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.  Also surviving are two sisters, Jackie Cobbs of Goshen and Sharon (Paul) Pike of Middlebury; and a brother, Sherwood Cripe of Syracuse.   She was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter, Penny Bollinger and a son, Randy Donat.   Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, May 29, at the funeral home.   A 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 30, 2007, funeral service will be conducted at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.  Rev. Dr. Sam Muncy will officiate.   Burial will be in Violett Cemetery, Goshen.   Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
