Greta Lawson Powers, 44, of New Paris, died unexpectedly Thursday morning, September 1, 2011, at IU Health Goshen Hospital. She was born in Corbin, Kentucky, on December 28, 1966 to the late Milford Lawson and Edna Lawson. She is survived by her mother, Edna (Roger) Delph of New Paris; two daughters, Ashley (James) Powers Brown of Rock Hold, Kentucky, and Brittany (Ricky) Powers Carr of Gatliff, Kentucky; four grandchildren, Clowey, Braden and Alexis Brown, and Macy Carr; two sisters, Tammy (David) Menefee of Frankfort; and Shelly (Jesus) Avila of Goshen; five brothers, Jeffery (Stephanie) Lawson and Jimmy (Atousha) Lawson, both of Goshen, Michael Lawson of Kentucky; Christopher B. Lawson, and John Henry Delph, both of New Paris; special friend, Miguel Molina of Goshen; and 12 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father. A ten year area resident , Mrs. Powers worked as a custodian for the Goshen School Systems. Friends may call Sunday 12:30 p.m. until the 1 p.m. memorial service at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Rev. Lenny Krebs of Benton Free Baptist Church will officiate. Yoder-Culp Crematory will arrange for cremation.
