Gregory A. Swihart, Sr.

Gregory A. Swihart, Sr., 71, of Goshen, died Sunday, October 29, 2017 at Elkhart Hospice House.

He was born November 30, 1945 in Elkhart to Dale and Laura (Mansfield) Swihart.

On June 10, 1972 he married Judy Helbling in Goshen.

She survives along with two sons, Jim (Anna Tison) Swihart of Wheat Ridge, Colorado and Gregory A. (Traca) Swihart, Jr. of Bristol; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and two sisters, Janice (James) Reber of Elkhart and Nikki Ganger of Goshen.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Dale Swihart.

A graduate of Elkhart Central High School, Mr. Swihart served with the Air Force and was a lifetime member of the D.A.V.  He was a past president of the Elkhart Breakfast Optimist Club.

He owned and operated Greg’s 66 Station and most recently retired from MSC Industrial Supply, Elkhart, after 20 years.

He enjoyed watching football and basketball and visiting Colorado with family.

Cremation will take place at Yoder-Culp Crematory and services will be held at a later date.

Memorials may be given to Elkhart County Humane Society.
