Gregory Lynn Kohler, 49, of Goshen, died at his home early Friday morning, February 3, 2012, of natural causes. He was born November 16, 1962 in Marion, Ohio. He married Sarah Slabaugh November 16, 1996 in Ferndale, Florida. She survives. Also surviving are his parents, Ted (Rita) Kohler of Marion, Ohio and Sue (Large) Smith of Clemont, Florida; two step-daugthers, Rose (Don) Butler and Lisa Wesseler, both of Goshen; two step-sons, Jerry (Sherry) Fisher of Elkhart and Scott Fisher of Mishawaka; eight step-grandchildren; a sister, Kathreen (Jerry) Funk of McDonough, Georgia; and two brothers, Tim (Teresa) Kohler of Minneola, Florida, and Richard (Haydee) Kohler of Okinawa, Japan. A former member of Ferndale Baptist Church in Florida, he was attending First Brethren Church, New Paris. While living in Florida, he built house trusses and after moving to Goshen, he worked as a mechanic at G-Diamond. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, February 6, and one hour prior to the 10 a.m., Tuesday, February 7, 2012, funeral service at First Brethren Church, 19066 3rd Street, New Paris. Interim Pastor Eric Alwine will officiate. Burial will follow in Violett Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be made to the Kohler family to assist with funeral expenses.
