Grace Steele

Grace Steele, 84, of Goshen, passed away Friday, February 27, 2015 at IU Health Goshen Hospital. She was born in Benton on June 28, 1930 to Charles W. and Edith (Miller) Clark. On January 9, 1949 she married Hollis Steele. He survives along with a daughter, Kim (Clarence) VanFleeren of Bristol; a son, Doug (Coleen) Steele of Wakarusa; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and two sisters, Letah Loy of Goshen and Ruby Rink of Millersburg. She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters, Goldie Strahm, Lena Stiver, Mary Householder and Catherine Pittman and a brother, Clifford Clark. A sales clerk at Varns and Hoover in Middlebury, Grace and Hollis used to give horse drawn hayrides at Eby Pines and horse drawn tram rides at the fairgrounds. A graveside service will be conducted Saturday, March 14, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Rock Run Cemetery, Goshen. Chaplain Margaret Sawatsky will officiate.
