Grace J. Oberlin, 70, passed away at her home Friday afternoon, July 24, 2009. She had been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis when she was 20 years old. She was born to Lavon and Vivian (Mason) Murphy on August 24, 1938, in Hicksville, Ohio. She moved to Goshen in 1954 and then to Millersburg in 1963. Grace was a homemaker and member of the Jehovah’s Witnesses. She is survived by three daughters, Deborah (Raul) Navarro of Goshen, Cynthia (Mike) Ziese of Elkhart, and Tabatha Conrad of Goshen; four sons, Kirby (Teresa) Oberlin of Goshen, Tracy (Pam) Oberlin of Ligonier, Harry (Lindsay) Oberlin, and Corey (Debbie) Oberlin, both of Millersburg; 25 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one sister, Coral (Joe) Martin of Rhonert Park, California; and three brothers, Claude Murphy of Coleman, Texas, Robert Murphy, and Charles Murphy, both of Fort Wayne, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Andrea Kipp; and two brothers, Raymond and Richard Murphy. Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m., Monday, July 27, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. A 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 28, funeral service will be held at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home will Elder Larry Gerber of Kingdom Hall of Jehova’s Witnesses in Goshen officiating. Burial will be at Brown Cemetery in Millersburg, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made out to Multiple Sclerosis Foundation or United Cancer Services of Elkhart County.
