Grace L. Frederick, 96, of Goshen, died Thursday afternoon, February 28, 2008, at Greencroft Healthcare. She was born in Wakarusa on October 30, 1911, to Harvey S. and Leta L. (Walter) Bowers. She married Noble Frederick on June 21, 1936 in the Union Center Church of the Brethren in Nappanee. He survives. Mrs. Frederick moved to Goshen from South Bend where she had lived for more than 50 years. Teaching was the love of her life and she taught many years in the South Bend School System. A graduate of Manchester College, she was very active in the Crest Manor Church of the Brethren in South Bend. She will be remembered for her wit, her devotion to her family and the great love she shared with her husband, Noble, of over 71 years. Mrs. Frederick is survived by her husband, Noble; a daughter, Lynda Joan Morley of Nashville, Tennessee; a daughter-in-law, Pamela Frederick of South Bend; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Martha Dickey of North Manchester, Indiana. She was preceded in death by two sons, Thomas Frederick in 1999 and infant Charles Frederick; five sisters, Vinna Helstern, Floy Bowers, Ruth Witham, Bernice Darling and Elma Harroff; and two brothers, Walter and James Bowers. Friends may call 1to 2 p.m., Monday, March 3, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Monday, March 3, 2008, at the funeral home. Pastor Larry Fourman of the Union Center Church of the Brethren will officiate. Burial will be in Union Center Cemetery, Nappanee. Memorial contributions may be made to Friends of the Thomas N. Frederick Juvenile Center in South Bend.
