Gloria Ortiz

Gloria Ortiz, 47, of Goshen, died August 21, 2020, at Goshen Hospital after a hard-fought five-year battle with cancer.

She was born September 2, 1972 in Magdalena, Mexico.  At a young age Gloria came to the US on her own and worked very hard to provide for and meet all of the needs of her three children.

Gloria is survived by her parents, Luis Ortiz and Obedeliza Guzman; three children, José Ortiz, Jonathan Gonzalez and Daney Gonzalez, all of Goshen; a grandson, Elias Jahir Gonzalez Vazquez; and siblings, Maria del Refugio, Irma, Natalia, Maria, Salvador, Pascual, Josefina, Maximina, Aida, Luis and Martina.

Gloria worked at Lippert #228.  She enjoyed walks in nature and spending time with her family.

She attended St. John’s Catholic Church and her strong faith enabled her to meet all of life’s obstacles and allowed her to always put the needs of others ahead of her own.  Her love and faith requests that none be too sad after her passing.

Visitation will be Wednesday, August 26, 2020, from 1:30-3:30 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.  A procession will proceed to St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church for a 4 p.m. funeral mass.  Father José Arroyo will officiate.

Cremation will follow the mass and internment will be in Mexico at a later date.
