Glenn W. Zebell, Sr., 84, of Goshen, died Saturday, April 9, 2016at his home after an extended illness.
He was born August 13, 1931 in New Troy, Michigan to Charles and Vera (Claypool) Zebell.
On June 28, 1952 he married Violet Kirk in New Troy.
She survives along with a daughter, Kathie (Rex) Swords of Goshen; three sons, Terry (Ellen) Zebell of Goshen, Gary (Christine) Zebell of Casa Grande, Arizona and Bill (Tammy) Zebell of Niles, Michigan; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and two sisters, Erma Mayers and Marjorie Ultch, both of LaPorte.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Jill Zebell; a sister, Georgiana Nowicki and two brothers, Charles E. and Gerald R. Zebell.
A veteran, he served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Mr. Zebell moved to Goshen in 1979 from Michigan where he owned and operated his own plumbing and heating business. In Goshen he worked as a salesman for Zebell’s Heating.
He was a member of the Osceola Grace Brethren Church and enjoyed golfing, reading and people.
Friends may call Wednesday, April 13, 2016 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home where a 1 p.m. funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, April 14, 2016. Rev. Bill Zebell, son, and Rev. Dave Knight of Osceola Grace Brethren Church will officiate.
Cremation will follow the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to Riley Hospital for Children.
