Glenn Palmer

August 24, 1916 — March 25, 2008

Glenn Herbert Palmer, 91, of Goshen, died early Tuesday morning, March 25, 2008, at The Maples at Waterford Crossing after an extended illness. He was born in Cambridge, Illinois, on August 24, 1916, to Herbert and Blanche (Spiegel) Palmer.  He married Lottie B. LaGro on October 16, 1936 in LaGrange.  She died July 2, 2006. A Goshen resident since 1947, Mr. Palmer, co-founded Goshen Die Cutting Inc. in 1955.  A 1934 graduate of Peoria High School in Illinois, Mr. Palmer was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Goshen; Masonic Lodge Scottish Rite; Shrine Club; Eastern Star; Moose Lodge; Elks Club in Goshen; and a charter member of Maplecrest Country Club and Gasket Fabricators Association.  Music was a very important part of Mr. Palmer’s life; he played drums with Music Makers. He is survived by two daughters, Loretta (Maurice) Miller of Goshen and Laura (Stephen) Tracey of Munising, Michigan; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, March 28, at the funeral home where a 5:45 p.m. Masonic Service will be held.  A Saturday, March 29, 2008, funeral service will begin at 10 a.m., at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen.  Pastor Alan Griffin of the First Presbyterian Church, Goshen, will officiate. Burial will be in Violett Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, Goshen or Shrine Club.
