Glen E. Honderich, 95, of Goshen, died early Monday morning, September 3, 2012, at The Maples at Waterford Crossing. He was born May 11, 1917 in Goshen to Daniel and Ida (Zook) Honderich. He married Lara M. Strauss October 13, 1940 in Nappanee. She died December 4, 2011. He is survived by two daughters, Gretchen (Clarence) Yoder of Goshen, and Ann (Mark) Beyers of Fithian, Illinois; two sons, Nevin (Judy) Honderich and Martin (Carol) Honderich, both of Goshen; a daughter-in-law, Karen (Bill) Griffin of Goshen; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Lois Honderich of Goshen. He was preceded in death by a son, David in 1998, two sisters, Gladys Yoder and Evelyn Gardner; and a granddaughter. A lifetime resident of the area, Mr. Honderich was a farmer. He had also worked at Coachmen Industries. He was a member of and served on the board of Elkhart County Soil and Water Conservation District. In 1960 he was honored as Farm Family of the Year. A 1935 graduate of Millersburg High School, he was a lifelong and active member of Clinton Brick Mennonite Church. He sang with the Menno Singers. Friends may call 5 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, September 5, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. An 11 a.m., Thursday, September 6, 2012, memorial service will be conducted at Clinton Brick Mennonite Church. Burial services will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, September 6, 2012, at Clinton Brick Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be made to Clinton Brick Mennonite Church or Anabaptist Mennonite Biblical Seminary.
