Gladys M. Leinbach, 89, of Goshen, died Friday evening, January 3, 2014, at I.U. Health Goshen Hospital where she had been since Tuesday, December 31. She was born April 8, 1924 in Goshen to Harvey and Grace (Culp) Stichter. She married Lloyd G. Leinbach November 11, 1945. He died December 4, 2011. Gladys is survived by two sons, Glenn (Vera) Leinbach, Elkhart and Carl (Dove) Leinbach, Goshen; two daughters, JoAnn (Richard) Schrock, Goshen and Ruth Bolden, Sandy, Ore.; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a brother, Robert (Harriet) Stichter, Milford. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a sister, Elsie Ramer. A lifelong area resident, she graduated from Goshen High School in 1943 and worked at the Side Board Restaurant, Elkhart and the Goshen Sale Barn. A homemaker, Gladys was a member of Yellow Creek Mennonite Church and made hundreds of quilts and did quilting for Quilt Designs and recently did baby quilts for MCC. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., WEDNESDAY, January 8, 2014, and one hour prior to the service at Yellow Creek Mennonite Church, Goshen. A 10:00 a.m., THURSDAY, January 9, 2014, funeral service will be conducted at the church. Pastors Wes Bontreger and Harold Yoder will officiate. Burial will follow at Yellow Creek Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be made to Mennonite Central Committee SWAP (Sharing with Appalachian People) for Elkhorn W. Va. Projects.
