Gladys Rae Hochstetler, 78, of Goshen, died Sunday morning, August 21, 2011, at Greencroft Healthcare. She had been in failing health the past seven years. She was born in Goshen on April 7, 1933, to the late Willis C. and Gladys "Joy" (Fisher) Kistler. She married Ray Hochstetler in Goshen on June 17, 1951. He survives. Also surviving are five daughters, Wendy (Darcy) Brandt, Ronda Justice and Sally (Wayne) Markham, all of Goshen, Paula (Kenny) Miller of Florence, Kentucky and Donna (Kevin) Strand of Batavia, Illinois; 13 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, George Kistler and a sister, Ann Yoder. A 1951 graduate of Goshen High School, Mrs. Hochstetler was a member of First Brethren Church, Goshen. She worked as a unit secretary at Goshen General Hospital for 20 years. Friends may call 1 to 5 p.m., Sunday, August 28 at the funeral home and from 10 to 11 a.m., Monday at the church. An 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 29, 2011, funeral service will be conducted at First Brethren Church, Goshen, with Pastors John Drexler and John Howenstine officiating. Burial will follow in Violett Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be given to First Brethren Church.
