Gladys Gingerich, 90, of Goshen, died early Thursday morning, November 16, 2006, at Greencroft Healthcare. She was born March 22, 1916, in Mylo, North Dakota, to Levi D. and Lizzie (Graber) Bontrager. She married Ezra W. Gingerich on June 25, 1936, in Mylo. He died March 18, 1993. A resident of the area since 1945, Mrs. Gingerich was a homemaker and a member of the Benton Mennonite Church. She was a volunteer at the Cutting Room for Mennonite Central Committee and for the World Missionary Press. Mrs. Gingerich is survived by four daughters, Marie (Elroy) Miller and Carol (Gerald) Beachy, both of Millersburg, Viola (Ned) Miller of Goshen, and Geneva (Gene) Bender of Middlebury; a daughter-in-law, Donna Gingerich of Millersburg; 19 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Also surviving are two sisters, Mary Slabaugh of Goshen and Agnes (Laban) Hochstetler of Middlebury; and a brother, Alvin (Mary) Bontrager of Topeka. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ezra; a son, Marvin J. Gingerich in 2000; two sisters, Viola and Lavina Bontrager; two grandchildren, Carla and Dana Miller; and two great-grandchildren, Ryan Bender and Jesica Warstler. Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, November 18, at the funeral home and from 1 to 2 p.m., Sunday, at the Benton Mennonite Church. A 2:00 p.m. funeral service will be conducted at the Benton Mennonite Church on Sunday, November 19, 2006. Pastors Doug Kaufman and Brenda Meyer will officiate. Burial will be in Benton Lutheran Cemetery, Benton. Memorial contributions may be made to World Missionary Press of The Care House, Goshen.
