Gladys Cripe

Gladys M. Cripe, 95, of Goshen, went to be with the Lord peacefully on Sunday, August 15, 2021 at 9:42 p.m.

She was born May 26, 1926, in Goshen to Jacob and Wanda (Toliver) Chupp.

Along with her parents she was preceded in death by two husbands, Howard A. Cripe and Marion Treat; a granddaughter, Shelly (Cripe) Magnus; three brothers and two sisters.

She is survived by three children, Phil Cripe and Linda (Jack) Barthel, both of Goshen and Michael Cripe of Nineveh; six grandchildren, Scott (Jill) Cripe of Ft. Collins, Colorado (Caleb and Caitlin), Dan Magnus of Chicago (Natalie, Elise and Audrey), Angie (Junior) Mares of West Olive, Michigan (Austin and Hunter), Kristie (Jason) Pressler of Goshen (Kinslyn and Westen), Mimi Barthel of Mishawaka (Barbara and Donovan), and Jason (Sarah) Barthel of South Bend (Megan).

Gladys spent most of her working years at Johnson Controls in Goshen making many wonderful friends. After retirement, she continued her ability as a master seamstress.

She was a believer in Jesus Christ and an active member of LifePoint Church in Goshen over her lifetime.

Viewing will be Friday, August 27 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and from 10 until the 11a.m. funeral service, Saturday, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.

A private burial will follow.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be given to Goshen Home Care and Hospice.
