Gertrude "Trudy" A. Long

Gertrude "Trudy" A. Long, 83, of Shipshewana, passed away Thursday evening, April 23, 2015, at I.U. Health Goshen Hospital after a brief illness. She was born July 10, 1931 in Kalamazoo, Michigan to Louis and Sena (Balgoyen) VanDyke. On Oct. 3, 1953 she married Robert Long in Grand Haven, Michigan. He survives along with two daughters, Linda (David) Clark of Columbus, Georgia and Wilma Long of Battle Creek, Michigan; two sons, Lewis Long of Battle Creek, Michigan and Robert (Paula) Long of Shipshewana; four grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Eugene VanDyke. A long time area resident, Mrs. Long worked as a teller for First State Bank of Middlebury for many years. There will be no services. Yoder-Culp Funeral Home is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
