Geraldyne “Jeri” Mae Hartsough, 95, of Goshen departed this Earth and entered her heavenly home while surrounded by loved ones on Saturday, August 23, 2025 at Greencroft Healthcare.

Jeri was born on January 22, 1930, to Charles “Roscoe” and Wilma (Thornton) Morse. On May 1, 1948, she married Fred Virgil Hartsough in Nappanee, and they enjoyed 57 wonderful years together until his death in 2006.

Jeri was a 1948 graduate of Goshen High School. She worked at the Lincoln theater in Goshen as a teenager. She was a homemaker and lovingly supported her husband and members of the community in a multitude of ways while he served as the VanBuren township trustee for two terms.

Jeri is survived by her children, Robert (Barbara) Hartsough of Zephyrhills, Florida, Susan Hochstetler and Cindy Vance of Goshen, and James (Denise) Hartsough of Middlebury; grandchildren, Ken Hartsough, Kathy Hyser, Jennifer Hochstetler, Laura Liu, Stacy Hammerstein, Logan Hartsough and Kately Straight; and 16 beloved great grandchildren.

Jeri is proceeded in death by her husband Fred, her son-in-law Warren Vance, and her grandson, Brian Hochstetler. She was the last surviving sibling out of six children.

Jeri was extremely gifted with flowers and plants of all kinds which she loved, along with all birds, but specifically hummingbirds and cardinals, and was her happiest when working outside. Jeri also loved cooking, canning and baking and was happy to share her knowledge with others using patience and love. She was a proud breast cancer survivor.

Jeri was truly the epitome of someone who never knew a stranger. She was happy to strike up a conversation with anyone within earshot. Jeri loved people of all ages and never turned down an opportunity to hold a baby. She had a special gift for bringing joy to people and making them feel loved. As relieved as her family is for Jeri to be free of her pain and suffering, her massive personality will leave a huge hole in the hearts of all who knew her.

The family wishes to thank the incredible staff of Greencroft Goshen, with whom Jeri created many loving and lasting friendships over the years she spent there.

In lieu of flowers, Jeri wished for donations to be made to either Greencroft Goshen Foundation; https://www.greencroft.org/GreencroftGoshen/foundation/ or Goshen Home Care and Hospice; https://goshenhealth.com .

Services are planned at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen, with visitation on Friday, August 29, 2025 beginning at 2 p.m. prior to the 3 p.m. funeral.
