Geraldine "Gerry" Rensberger Jarvis, 83, of Goshen, died Sunday evening, February 19, 2012, at Courtyard Healthcare. She had been in failing health the past five years. She was born September 25, 1928 in New York City to Ernest and Julia (Mikes) Rosenberg. She married Frank Rensberger June 1, 1946 in Goshen. He died January 15, 1993. She then married Don Jarvis July 14, 1999. He survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Debra (James) Hanson of Elkhart; two step-daughters, Diane Overmyer of Goshen and Linda Winegardner of Milford; and two step-sons, Dean and Dale Jarvis, both of Nashville, Indiana. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Connie Ann Smith and a sister, Sylvia Toma. She graduated from Barbazon Modeling School, New York City, and worked as executive secretary to the president of Chore Time Brock, retiring in 1995. A Goshen resident since 1946, Gerry was a member of Plymouth United Church of Christ, the Goshen Moose Auxiliary and the VFW. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m., Thursday, February 23, 2012, funeral service at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Violett Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association, Dementia Research, the family or the donor's choice.
