Gerald L. Geil

Gerald L. Geil, 76, died Friday, February 15, 2008, at Yuma Regional Medical Center in Yuma, Arizona. Mr. Geil was born in Nappanee, Indiana, on June 9, 1931, to Harold and Beatrice (Umbaugh) Geil. He owned and operated J&B Western Store in Union, Michigan for 20 years. He served three year in the US Army.  He was a past member of the American Legion in Bristol, the Lions Club, the Sheriff’s Posse in Cass County and the Cass County Conservation Club. He is survived by a daughter, Jody (Ken) Yoder of Union, Michigan; five grandchildren; longtime companion, Marjorie A. Edgman; and two sisters, Pauline Detwiler of Goshen and Gladys (Jim) Detwiler of Antigo, Wisconsin. He was preceded in death by a son, Michael R. Geil and a sister, Ruth Burk. There will be no visitation nor funeral services.  There will be a private family burial in the Plum Grove Cemetery in Union, Michigan, at a later date.
