Gerald "Geno" E. Myers

Gerald "Geno" Myers, 76, of Goshen died Saturday morning, June 27, 2015 at Courtyard Healthcare. He was born June 5, 1939 in Goshen to Roscoe and Ruby (Keyser) Myers. On Janary 4, 1959 he married Mary Ellen King. She died September 4, 1989. He later married Shirley Joan (Weiland) Clingerman on July 18, 2001. She survives along with his children, James Myers and Gary (Dawn) Myers, both of Goshen, and a daughter, Melissa (John) Contreras of Stickney, Illinois; three step-children, Jackie (Mike) Gingerich of Goshen, David (Valerie) Clingerman of Elkhart and Jerry Clingerman of Pittsburgh; nine grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Gladys Graff of Syracuse and Eileen McCloskey of Goshen. Along with his parents and first wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Jo Ann Borden and two brothers, Max and Willis Myers. Geno was a 1957 Concord High School graduate where he played baseball and participated in the band, playing the baritone. Following high school he served in the US Navy until 1962. After his military service he worked in the local RV industry for 45 years before retiring in 2002. He continued to stay active as a fast-pitch softball pitcher for 32 years. He also enjoyed bowling, golfing and playing euchre. He was well known for his karaoke talents. He was a life member of the VFW, DAV and American Legion, and member of the Goshen Moose Lodge since 1966. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 30, 2015 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home where a 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 1, 2015 funeral will take place. Reverends John Contreras and Jeremy Myers, Geno's son-in-law and grandson, will officiate. Cremation will take place at Yoder-Culp Crematory. Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Wounded Warrior Project.
