Georgia G. Evans

Georgia G. Evans, 81, Kalamazoo, Michigan, died at 1:30 a.m., Sunday, March 18, 2007 at her home.  She had been under the care of Southern Care Hospice of Kalamazoo. She was born February 23, 1926 in Thurston County, Washington, to George, Jr. and Edna (Bucher) Griggs.  On March 6, 1944 in Shelton, Washington she married James F. Evans.  He died February 14, 1985.   She was a member of Little Pine Church of the Brethren.   She was a Bookkeeper for 11 years at Bristol Lamination Corporation, and was also a licensed real estate agent.   Surviving is one son, Michael (Brenda) Evans, Kalamazoo, Michigan; three brothers, Glenn (Brenda) Griggs, Shelton, Washington, Maurice (Shirley) Griggs, Centralia, Washington and Bernard (Nancy) Griggs, Olympia, Washington   She was preceded in death by one sister, Evelyn Sheppard.   Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, March 21, 2007 at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home where services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, March 22, 2007 with Rev. John vonLackum of Plymouth United Church of Christ officiating.    A private family committal service will take place at Oak Ridge Cemetery, Bristol.   Memorials may be given to Michigan Homeless Action Network.
