Georgia "Pat" A. Winters

Georgia A. "Pat" Winters, 88, of Grand Rapids, Michigan, and formerly of Goshen, died peacefully of natural causes Sunday morning, July 3, 2011 at Clark Retirement Community. She was born on August 13, 1922, in Findlay, Ohio, to the late George and Helen (Savage) Hankison. She married Harold O. Winters on June 22, 1941, in Clyde, Ohio. He died October 1983. Surviving are two daughters, Katherine Yoder and JoAnne (James) Gorant both of Grand Rapids; five grandchildren, Josh Yoder, Valerie Laurikietis, Leah Yoder, Nick and Alexis Gorant; two great-grandchildren, Braedon and J. Cameron Laurikietis, and a sister-in-law, Mariellen Gunderson, Goshen. She was preceded in death by an infant son, Mark Winters and a sister, Helen Meggit. Pat was a homemaker and a member of Plymouth United Church of Christ, Goshen. She and her husband were charter members of Maplecrest Country Club where she was Women's Club Champion six times. Cremation by Yoder-Culp Crematory will take place and a memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 8, 2011, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Pastor Larry Hicks of Goshen Plymouth United Church of Christ will officiate. A private burial of cremains will be at Violett Cemetery, Goshen.
