George E. Riley

George E. Riley, 77, formerly of Goshen, died Sunday afternoon, December 18, 2005, at Rosewood Terrace, Elkhart, where he had been a patient since August.   He was born January 12, 1928, in Goshen, to Harry and Esther (Frantz) Riley.  On November 26, 1953, in Elkhart, he married Ethlyn F. Hoke.  She survives.   Mr. Riley was a foundry foreman at Independent Protection for 35 years, retiring in 1990.  He served in the US Army and was a Korean War Veteran.  He was a member of the Goshen VFW.   He attended Goshen City Church of the Brethren.   He is survived by his wife, Ethlyn; a son, Gregory G. Riley of Goshen; a daughter, Kim S. (Don) Fish of Martinsville, Indiana; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.  He is also survived by five half brothers, Fred and Donald Riley of South Bend, Ralph Riley of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, Clarence Riley of Pennsylvania and Harry W. Riley of Security, Colorado.   He was preceded in death by his parents; a step-mother, Bertha (Garman) Riley; two sisters, Betty and Roberta Miller; a brother, Richard Riley; and a half-brother, Raymond Riley.   Friends will be received 5 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, December 20, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.   An 11:00 am, Wednesday, December 21, 2005, funeral service will be held at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.  Pastors Yvonne Riege and Wayne Lawson, both of Goshen City Church of the Brethren will officiate.   Burial will be in West Goshen Cemetery, Goshen.   Memorial contributions may be made to Goshen City Church of the Brethren.
