George O. Marner

George O. Marner, 82, of Goshen died late Wednesday night, September 15, 2010, at The Maples at Waterford Crossing. He was born in Kokomo on March 15, 1928 to Jake and Mary (Hostedler) Marner.  He married Bettye Smith on December 31, 1948, in Goshen.  She survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Connie (Rick) Dills of Goshen and Cynthia (Rodney) Blackburn of Elkhart; two sons, Larry (Connie) Marner of Elkhart and Jeffrey Marner of Goshen; 15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Pauline Beachy of Addison, Michigan, and Ruby Kehr of New Paris; and a brother, Robert Marner of Decatur, Illinois. He was preceded in death by a son, Garry J. Marner; a sister, Viola Marner; and two brothers, Edward and LeRoy Marner. A carpenter, Mr. Marner was a member of Zion Church of God Prophecy. Friends may call 11a.m. to 12 p.m., Monday, September 20, 2010,at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home where a memorial service will be conducted at noon.  Rev. Davis Webster will officiate. Burial will be in West Goshen Cemetery, Goshen. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
