George W. Lowe

George W. Lowe, 52, of Goshen, died Tuesday evening, August 12, 2008, at Indiana University medical Center in Indianapolis.  He had been ill with leukemia for 18 months. He was born in Warsaw, Indiana, on June 8, 1956 to Jerry C. and Serita Kay (Wertenberger) Lowe.  He married Susan Roth on May 6, 1995 in Syracuse.  She survives. A member of First United Church of Christ, Goshen, Mr. Lowe drove a front end loader for Aggregate Industries for 13 years.  He had also worked for Zimmerman gravel in Milford.  He was a member of the Cromwell Masonic Lodge and Sons of the American Legion in North Webster; and a life member of the USBC.  Mr. Lowe bowled in the Maple City Bowl; was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed snowmobiling and going to antique car show. He is survived by his wife, Susan; his parents, Jerry and Serita Lowe of Syracuse; a daughter, Kaitlyn Lowe at home; a step-son, Ryan Roth of Elkhart; a step-daughter, Alicia Roth at home; two sisters, Mary (Bret) Lowe Aker of Warsaw and Linda (Steve) Yoder of Syracuse; three nieces; and three nephews. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, August 15, at the funeral home. A 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 16, 2008, funeral service will be conducted at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.  Rev. Carl Adams will officiate. Burial will be in Violett Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be made to First United Church of Christ or United Cancer Services of Elkhart County.
