George Hluchota, 85, of died Monday, July 7, 2025 at Waterford Crossing Health campus.
He was born February 20, 1940 in Velbivka, Ukraine to Paul and Alexandra (Rebalka) Hluchota.
He is survived by his nieces and nephews, Leon (Pamela) Hluchota, Tanya Jones, and Sue (Gary) Simmons, all of Goshen, Eric (Chistine) Hluchota of Elkhart and Tina (Jerry) Healey of Wimauma, Florida.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Leon Hunter
and Anatole “Tony” Hluchota.
Mr. Hluchota’s young life was marked by World War II, moving around Hungary, Poland, Germany and Austria. He spent four years in a German Concentration Camp and another four years in a refugee camp before coming to the United States, October 13, 1949 and settling in Middlebury with his family.
George is a 1960 graduate of Jefferson High School and 1964 graduate of Goshen College. He received his Masters in Business Administration from Western Michigan University in 1966.
An active member of the community, Mr. Hluchota became a citizen in 1960 and was a member of the Noon Kiwanis Club since 1998. He worked for several local corporations, most recently as general manager for Staples, Inc. before retiring in 2000.
Visitation will be Friday, July 11, 2025 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen.
There will also be one hour of visitation Saturday, beginning at 9 a.m. prior to the 10 a.m. funeral service at the Holy Trinity Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 61341 C.R. 21 Goshen, IN 46528.
Burial will follow at Violett Cemetery, Goshen.
