George H. Grover, 87, of Mishawaka and formerly of Goshen, died Monday, January 22, 2018 at his home.
He was born March 28, 1930 in Goshen to W.L. “Ted” and Georgia (Howard) Grover.
On June 11, 1954 he married Retha Hooley. They divorced and he later married LaBrilla “Libby” (Knight) Books on March 27, 1999. She died July 25, 2010.
Survivors include a daughter, Sonja (Kerry) Dunne of Mishawaka; two sons, Jeffrey (Deborah) Grover of Elkhart and Kirby (Angela) Grover of Niles, Michigan; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren
Along with his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Gwendolyn Rhude, Merrie J. (Jayne) Rhude, Barbara Rensberger; a brother, John Grover; and a sister-in-law, Loretta Grover, Elkhart.
A lifetime resident of the Goshen and South Bend area, Mr. Grover was a truck driver for various businesses over the years. He retired from Markley in 1994.
He attended Goshen High School and served nine years with the Indiana National Guard. He was a lifetime member of the Goshen D.A.V. and worked as a Red Coat at Elkhart Hospital.
Friends may call Wednesday, January 24, 2018 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home where an 11 a.m. funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, January 25, 2018.
Cremation will follow the service and burial will be at a later date in Violett Cemetery.
