Indiana native Geoffrey David Stickel, 53, of Henderson, Nevada, tragically passed away on October 8, 2024. He was born March 18, 1971, in Goshen, Indiana, son of Roger H. Stickel (deceased) and Kathleen L. (Grimes) Fuller (deceased). He was a 1989 graduate of Goshen High School, Goshen Indiana and a 1991 graduate of Vincennes University, Vincennes Indiana. While still attending Vincennes, he joined the U.S. Army National Guard and proudly served from 1990 to 2000 as an Air Assault Qualified Infantryman.
Following college, Geoff spent 15 years managing several different restaurants in the Michiana area, making customer service and satisfaction his mission. After his move to Henderson, Nevada he was a successful realtor for Signature Real Estate Group, Green Valley, where he continued to make excellent customer service his main goal. He was also a truck driver for MC Carriers before becoming an independent driver, owning his own trucking enterprise. He often regaled friends and family with tales from his extensive travels throughout the lower forty-eight states and every province in Canada. At his side for many of his adventures on the road was his treasured companion and best friend Sophie, his beloved Australian Shepard.
Geoff was an accomplished musician, having been a singer and guitarist in two bands. Music was his solace and method of connecting with the world. He was happy to spend hours discussing composition, musicians, and performances with his friends and family. His musical passion was evident in the one hundred plus songs he wrote and was the legacy he wished to leave behind. His music will continue to reverberate even though he is no longer with us.
Geoff possessed a very dry and witty sense of humor, a mischievous grin, and infectious, hearty laugh. He was an enterprising, creative, and passionate spirit whose memory will live on. His family and friends are heartbroken by his loss and will miss him terribly.
Surviving him are his sisters, Lisa (Jay) Glon of Milford, Megan (Justin) Weber of Churubusco, and brother, Chad (Tara) Fuller of Warsaw. Also surviving are several aunts, uncles, and cousins who were very fond of him, especially cousins Jill McIntire and Amy Stickel-Dattner, with whom he shared a special bond.
A funeral Mass will be held for Geoff at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 109 W. Monroe St., Goshen, on November 21, 2024, at 10am. Burial will follow at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Cemetery in Elkhart.
