Genevieve M. Detwiler

Genevieve M. Detwiler, 100, of Goshen, died at 1:20 a.m. Friday, January 02, 2009 at Greencroft healthcare. She was born to Rueben and Mennie (Judie) Eger on October 13, 1908 in Goshen. She married Erwin Detwiler on March 17, 1928. He died on May 8, 1981. Mrs. Detwiler was a homemaker and had worked for Penn Control during World Warr II. A member of First Brethren Church, New Paris, she was a very loving person. She is survived by one daughter, Carol (Ellis) Burridge of Goshen and one son, Erwin L. (Shirley) Detwiler of Cromwell; seven grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 27 great-great-grandchildren and one step-brother, Wayne Eger of Georgia. She was preceded in death by one son, William Detwiler in 1975 and one sister, Geraldine Mayo. Friends may call from 1 to 5 p.m., Sunday, January 4, 2009 at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. An 11:30 a.m., Monday, January 5, 2009 funeral service will be held at Yoder-Culp Funeral. Rev. Ted Schowengerdt of First Brethren Church, New Paris will officiate.   A private burial will take place in West Goshen Cemetery, Goshen. Memorials may be given to First Brethren Church, New Paris or Care at Home Hospice.
