Geneva "Jenny" M. Hoopes

Geneva "Jenny" M. Hoopes, 91, of Goshen, died Monday morning, February 13, 2012 at The Maples at Waterford Crossing where she had been three years. She was born September 19, 1920 in Barnesville, Ohio, to the late John M. and Opal (Steen) Murphy. She married Kenneth E. Hoopes May 18, 1946 in Rushville. He died November 28, 1989. She is survived by two sons, Jeffery A. Hoopes and Steven R. (Kay) Hoopes, both of Goshen; a grandchild; and two sisters, Becky (Carl) Goldsmith of Newark, Ohio and Marlene Davy of Zanesville, Ohio. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Audrey Goldsmith and Helen Griffith and two brothers, Ellis A. and Hobart S. Murphy. A homemaker, Mrs. Hoopes was a life member of the Women's Hospital Auxiliary and an avid bowler. There will be no visitation. Cremation will take place at Yoder-Culp Crematory and burial will be in Violett Cemetery at a later date.
