Gary Leonard, 73, Goshen, died on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at Ingalls Memorial Hospital in Harvey, Illinois.
Gary was born October 4, 1951, in Goshen, to Carlton and Betty (Close) Leonard.
Surviving are daughters Courtney (Kevin) Bowen, Goshen, Erin (Tony) Kosec, Arizona; granddaughters Lexsis Bowen (fiancé Carson Abramson), and Nora Kosec; grandson Charles Kosec; sisters Becky (Jim) Hoogenboom, Goshen, Connie Penland, Goshen, and Carla Cobb, Utah.
He worked in sales and was proud to represent the companies WTRC and Regal Motors. After his retirement from UPS, he established his own business, LB Lawncare, where he continued to serve his community.
In the late 1970s, Gary was also a member and the drummer of the local band Coca, which performed throughout the Goshen area.
He was also a devoted Indiana University fan and could often be found cheering on the Hoosiers with great pride. His love for IU was well known among his family and friends and it brought him immense joy over the years.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, August 13, from 5-8 p.m., and also from 12-1 p.m., Thursday, August 14, until the 1 p.m. funeral service, which all will all take place at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Pastor Jim Hoogenboom from Lifespring Church, will officiate.
Per Gary’s wishes, he will be cremated following his funeral service at Yoder-Culp Crematory.
Memorial contributions may be given to the American Heart Association.
