Galen D. Rasler, 34, of Goshen, died unexpectedly Sunday, January 26, 2020.
He was born May 29, 1985 in Elkhart. On December 16, 2006 he married Kelli Salchert.
She survives along with four children, Benaiah, Boaz, Keziah and Abram, all at home; his parents, Gerald and Karen (Frey) Rasler of Goshen and two sisters, Katrina (Stephen) Marks of Granger and Kacinda (Jeremiah) Wright of Mishawaka.
Galen graduated from Northridge High School in 2004 and Vincennes University in 2008.
He was a member of Grace Community Church and worked as a superintendent for DJ Construction.
Galen lived his life surrendered to the Lord which was shown by his love for his family. He was a steward of his gifts at his job and brought outsiders inside making people feel comfortable and welcomed.
In order to preserve Galen’s memory for his children, visitors are asked to bring a written memory, story or meaningful interaction they had with Galen to the visitation.
Visitation will be Thursday, January 30, 2020 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Grace Community Church, 20076 C.R. 36, Goshen, where a 10 a.m., Friday, January 31, funeral service will be conducted. Pastors Jim Brown and Jon Rauch, Grace Community Church and Pastor Rich Yauger, Sugar Grove Church, will officiate.
Burial will follow in Oakridge Cemetery, Goshen.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family.
