Galen Leroy Brubaker, 88 of Goshen died Wednesday, January 23, 2019, at Courtyard Healthcare.
He was born October 8, 1930, in East Freedom, Pennsylvania to Lloyd and Margarie (Bowser) Brubaker.
On July 10, 1950, he married Martha M. Polinsky in Winchester, Virginia.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Lloyd (Carrie) Brubaker of Goshen, Coleen Brubaker of Denver, Colorado, Ron (Deb) Brubaker of Goshen, and Gail (Jeff) Vance of Elkhart; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; 13 step-great-grandchildren and eight step great-great-grandchildren. and sisters, Mary (Don) Berkheimer and Kay Brubaker, both of Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania.
He was preceded in death by son, Ted Brubaker; grandson, Jeff Vance; sisters, Eleanor McCleary, Esther Cramer and Margarite Brubaker; step-grandson, Robert Vance; and an unnamed brother who died in birth with his mother.
Galen worked in the maintenance department of Goshen Rubber Company. He was also a farmer, iron worker and welder.
He was a member of Yellow Creek Church of the Brethren and life member of the NRA. He was an avid gardener, enjoyed fishing and hunting and had an enormous amount of knowledge on firearms and re-loading.
Visitation will be Saturday, February 16, 2019 from 1 p.m. until the 2 p.m. memorial service at Yellow Creek Church of the Brethren,
65575 County Road 11 , Goshen.
