Gail A. Williams, 72, of Elkhart, died Monday, August 14, 2017 at Center for Hospice Care, Elkhart.
She was born February 4, 1945 in Chicago to William J. and Beatrice (Cullen) Williams.
On August 21, 1965 she married Frank L. Williams in Elkhart.
He survives along with a son, Jeffrey (Cheryl) Williams of Goshen; three daughters, Kathleen (Jason) Schlemmer, Brenda (Scott) Whitehead, and Ashley (Joshua) Gorce, all of Elkhart; 11 grandchildren, Brittany (Shane) Goedeck, Haley and Lindsay Robinson, Zachary Williams, Camryn and Mitchell Whitehead, Danielle and Logan McIntosh, Brooklyn Gorce, and Bradley and Alex Schlemmer; and five great-grandchildren, Michael, Savannah and Xavier Robinson, River Goedeck and Madelyn Jesuit.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Alexander Coffman.
Gail earned her associate’s degree in nursing from Vincennes University. She worked for 20 years at the nursing home that is now Kindred Nursing and Rehabilitation, Elkhart.
She was an active member of Beulah Missionary Church. She enjoyed family outings, vacations, bingo on Wednesdays with Fairview Grange and the Friendly Pioneers, and especially time with grandchildren. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and an exceptional cook.
Visitation will be Thursday, August 17, 2017 from 2 to 4 and 5 to 7 p.m. at Beulah Missionary Church, 57595 Old County Road 17, Goshen, and one hour prior to the 11 a.m. funeral service, Friday, August 18, 2017. Rev. Bryon S. Smith will officiate.
Burial will follow at Violett Cemetery, Goshen.
