G. Bernita Smith

Gloria Bernita Smith, 94, of Kennesaw, Georgia and  formerly of Goshen, passed away Thursday, February 16, 2017 at Blue Willow.

She was born August 15, 1922 in Elkhart County to Henry Claude and Irene (Holdeman) Elliott.

On February 11, 1961 she married Robert E. Smith in Goshen.  He died March 17, 1981.

Survivors include two sons, James E. Harley of Acworth, Georgia and Thomas L. (Hope) Harley of Longmont, Colorado; a step-daughter, Diana (Charles) Miller of Granger; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; five great–great grandchildren and a sister, Patricia Brown of Goshen.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a brother, Robert Elliott.

Mrs. Smith worked as a teller at the Salem Bank, Goshen, for 29 years, retiring January 1, 1983.  She had been a member of Goshen City Church of the Brethren and New Paris Missionary Church.

Friends may call Thursday, February 23, 2017, from 9:30 until the 10:30 a.m. funeral service at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Pastor Steve Norton, Goshen City Church of the Brethren, will officiate.

Burial will follow at West Goshen Cemetery, Goshen.
