South Bend – Frederick E. Riley, 93 died Friday, October 9, 2026 at BellTower Health and Rehabilitation Center, Granger.
He was born July 14, 1933 in Goshen to Harry and Bertha (Garman) Riley.
Fred is survived by his wife Eileen Riley; children, Steven (JoAnn) Riley, Frances (Randy) Troyer, and James Riley; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; stepchildren, Greg (Alice) Aldridge, Jim (Keri) Aldridge and Mary Radde; seven step grandchildren and seven step great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by a brother, Clarence (Cindy) Riley.
Along with his parents, Fred was preceded in death by his first wife, Elizabeth (Velisavljevich) Riley, daughter, Deborah Holdeman , siblings, Wayne, Donald, Ralph and Raymond and half-siblings, Richard, George, Betty, Roberta and Maxine.
Fred served in the United States Army during the Korean War era and picked up a ‘jack of all trades” mentality that served him well in many different areas. He worked for Sears as a repairman before retiring at the age of 62.
He enjoyed playing euchre and spending time with his family and stayed active tinkering with all things electronic.
Visitation will be Thursday, October 15, 2026 from 12 p.m. until the 1 p.m. funeral service at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen. Burial will follow in West Goshen Cemetery.
