Frederick M. Osborn

Frederick “Fred” M. Osborn, 82, of Elkhart, died Saturday, December 11, 2021, at Elkhart Meadows.

He was born September 2, 1939, in Goshen to Charles J. and Helen E. (Miller) Osborn.

On June 10, 1961, he married Patricia Ann Ramey in New Castle. She died February 25, 2004.

Survivors include a daughter, Anita (Jeff) Chupp of Goshen; three sons, Randy Osborn of Goshen, Scott Osborn of Elkhart, and Tim (Cindy) Osborn of South Bend; four grandchildren, Sarah (fiancé, John Cummings) Chupp, Courtney (Nate Stafford) Nunez, Brady Osborn, and Michael (Destinee) Chupp; two great grandchildren, Emerson Chupp and Braxton Nunez; two sisters, Betty VanderReyden of Goshen, and Mary (John) Whetsell of Vandalia, Michigan; and a brother, Charles Osborn, Jr. of Elkhart.

A 1957 graduate of Goshen High School, Fred joined the U.S. Navy after graduation and served until 1961. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, now known as Faith Lutheran Church, Greene Road, and worked in the local rubber manufacturing industry.

Fred enjoyed fishing, raccoon hunting and stock car races. His grandchildren and great grandchildren held a special place in his heart.

Visitation will be Wednesday, December 15, 2021, from 1 p.m. until the 2 p.m. funeral service at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Rev. Terry Tyler will officiate.

Burial will follow at Oakridge Cemetery, Goshen.
