Frederick B. "Bill" Reynolds

Frederick B. “Bill” Reynolds, 71, of Elkhart, and formerly of Goshen, died Friday morning, June 12, 2009, at South Bend Memorial Hospital where he had been a patient since Wednesday.  He had been ill the past six years. He was born in Mattoon, Illinois, on June 30, 1937 to Norman and Edna (Harris) Reynolds.  He married Marilyn June Nantz on May 19, 1957, in Crete, Illinois.  She survives. Mr. Reynolds worked in construction trades all of his life with his last employment being project manager for Richard Hiatt Construction prior to his retirement in 2000.  He enjoyed traveling throughout the US, and camping in state and national parks.  An enthusiastic White Sox fan, he also enjoyed golfing, and watching “Da Bears”. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn; three daughters, Kathleen Ellison of Elkhart, Lori (Laren) Stayton of Goshen, and Johnna (Michael) Aust of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; two sons, Richard (Sandra) Reynolds of Douglasville, Georgia, and Frederick (Pamela) Reynolds of Freemont, California; 14 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one sister, Donna Marvel of Phoenix, Arizona; and a brother, Jack (Marjorie) Reynolds of Freemont, California. He was preceded in death by a sister, Joyce Carson and a brother, James Reynolds. Friends may call 10 to 11 a.m., Monday, June 15, at the funeral home  where an 11:00 a.m. memorial service will be conducted.  Pastor Ed Ritchie of the Elkhart County Community Church will officiate. Memorial contributions may be given to United Cancer Services of Elkhart County.
