Fred W. Yoder, 64, of Wolcottville passed away peacefully Thursday, February 1st at the IU Health Simon Cancer Center, Indianapolis, surrounded by his family and friends.
Born August 16, 1959, in Rensselaer, IN to Calvin C. and Fannie H. (Mast) Yoder, Fred was one of 13 siblings. Fred married his wife, Dawn, on December 9, 1995, in Elkhart, IN.
Along with his wife Dawn, Fred is survived by two children, Nathaniel Yoder of Wolcottville and Nicole (fiancé-Dr. Alex Hegg) of LaGrange; four brothers, Lester (Judy) Yoder, Ervin Yoder, Calvin (Denise) Yoder Jr. and Weldon (Ellie) Yoder and three sisters, Edna (John) Herz, Sarah (Delbert) Chupp, and Erma (Gary) Troyer. Fred was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings Henry Yoder, Chris Yoder, Raymond Yoder, Verna Burkholder, and Irene Slabaugh.
Family and faith were the two things that Fred held most dear. He was very thankful for his wife and two children. During his courageous battle with illness, Fred glorified God to others and shared the miracles that were afforded to him.
Fred enjoyed the simple things in life. He enjoyed fishing, tending to his garden, and a good bonfire. He especially enjoyed cooking. Fred could often be found in the kitchen cooking and trying out new recipes. He especially loved cooking and entertaining for his family and friends.
Fred was a devoted employee of Forest River where he worked as a Warranty Representative. He truly enjoyed working with his customers, dealers, and coworkers. Fred would frequently work from his hospital room as he was receiving treatments or undergoing therapy. Fred was extremely thankful for their support and often called his boss, Carl Miller, his guardian angel.
Visitation will be held at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen, IN on Friday, February 9th from 4 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., with the funeral following at 12 p.m. Pastor Drew Ryall will officiate. Burial will follow in South Haven Cemetery, Millersburg.
