Fred L. Housour, 90, of Goshen, died early Friday morning, October 10, 2014, at Hubbard Hill Estates. He was born Jan. 8, 1924 in Elkhart to Floyd and Anna (Johnson) Housour. On May 29, 1948 he married Faye Louise Dillman. She died April 3, 1973. In 1975 he married Georgia Jenkins. She died In August 2008. He is survived by a daughter, Judy Robison of Elkhart; a granddaughter, Joy (Pat) Bealmear of Orlando, Florida; and three great-grandchildren, Kayla, Skyler and Maddie Bealmear. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wives, three brothers and a sister. A lifelong Goshen resident, Mr. Housour worked as a postal carrier and farmed. He was a member of St. James Episcopal Church. He served with the US Army during World War II. An avid golfer, Mr. Housour was a member of Maplecrest Country Club from 1961 until 2010. He served as a caddie for the LPGA in Florida. He was a groundskeeper for Maplecrest Country Club. He also enjoyed playing bridge, traveling, gardening and making apple cider. Friends may call Sunday, October 12, 2014 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home where an 11:30 a.m., Monday, October 13, 2014, funeral service will be conducted. Father Larry Biller will officiate. Burial will follow in Violett Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be given to Elkhart County Humane Society.
