H. Francis Schrock, 94 died Sunday, March 1, 2020 at Goshen Hospital of pneumonia.
He was born July 5, 1925 in Goshen to Harry J. and Hazel Marie (Mishler) Schrock.
A life long area resident, Francis was a member of Waterford Mennonite Church. Before retirement he was employed by Universal Cooperatives for 42 years as a production and plant manager. He also was a real estate broker and landlord, owning and operating Schrock Reality. Francis received a ninth-grade education and later received his G.E.D.
In retirement, he and Eloise wintered in Tucson, Arizona where he worked for Community Home Repair Projects (CHRPA).
His hobbies included buying and repairing pedal cars and tractors, antiques, and woodworking projects for children and grandchildren.
On July 14, 1946 he married Mary Jean Miller. She died January 26, 1985. He then married L. Eloise Miller Bontrager on October 25, 1986. She survives.
Also surviving is a son, Larry (Kay) Schrock of Goshen; two daughters, Cheryl (Rick) Dolson of LaPorte and Kathleen (Charles) Hartzler of Middlebury; two step-daughters, Sharon (Conrad) Bontrager Kleinholz of Stillwater, Oklahoma and Pamela (Avery) Bontrager Zook of Doylestown, Ohio; five grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a great-great grandchild.
He is also survived by a brother, Harry Schrock; four sisters, Iola Schrock, Ellen Mishler, Waneta (Wilbur) Miller, and Betti June Kauffman; a sister-in-law, Eleanor Schrock; and many nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents and first wife, Francis was preceded in death by a sister, Beulah Mae Schrock, and two brothers, Marion and Merle Schrock.
Visitation will be Thursday, March 5, 2020 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen. A memorial service will be conducted Friday, March 6, 2020 at 11 a.m. at Waterford Mennonite Church, Goshen.
A private graveside service will be held in Violett Cemetery, Goshen.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to Waterford Mennonite Church or Community Home Repair Project, 6046 E. 30 th St., Tucson, AZ 85711, or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
