Francis Junior Freed

Fran Freed, 93, of Goshen, passed peacefully Sunday, September 2, 2018, at Greencroft Healthcare.

He was born August 30, 1925 to Francis and Laura (Smeltzer) Freed in Nappanee.

On October 9, 1949 he married Marjorie E. Yoder who survives along with their three children, Cheryl (Randy) Seaman, Tim (Elma) Freed and Ron (Pam) Freed; six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Fran worked for many years at Elkhart Products as a tool and die maker before retiring.  His final career move was as a volunteer at Greencroft where he pushed wheelchair residents to their therapy sessions for nine years.  During those years he logged many miles and made many friends that were dear to his heart.

He was a member of Belmont Mennonite Church, Elkhart.

Services are planned for Friday, September 7, 2018, in the Meeting House at Greencroft, Goshen Campus, with visitation from 5:30 until the 7 p.m., Celebration of Life service.

Burial will take place at a later date in Yellow Creek Cemetery.
