Francis A. “Bud” Miller, 87, formerly of Goshen, died Sunday afternoon, January 29, 2006, in Salina, Kansas. He was born May 16, 1918, in Charlevoix, Michigan, to Alfred and Susanne (Phlager) Miller. He married Betty Rink. She died in 1972. On May 31, 1987, he married Virginia Knoll. She died March 14, 2003. Mr. Miller, a city employee, lived in Goshen from 1925 to 2004. He was a member of the First Church of God and the VFW. He is survived by a daughter, Joan (Lyle) Larson of Omaha, Nebraska; a son, Larry Miller of Abilene, Kansas; a step-daughter, Janet (Marvin) Hughey of Mishawaka, Indiana; a step-son, Donald E. Elliot of Henderson, Nevada; ten grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wives, Betty and Virginia, a grandson, Kelly Miller and a granddaughter, Pam Larson; five sisters, Bernice McDonald, Helen McKinstra, Eloise Fry, Winifred Chrispyn and Sylvia Linsley; and two brothers, Carlyle and Bernard Miller. A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 18, 2006, at 10:00 a.m., at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Rev. Craig Garber will officiate. Burial will be in Violett Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Church of God, Goshen.
