Frances E. Jessup

Frances E. Jessup, 98, of Goshen passed away early Friday morning, December 18, 2015 at Emily’s House at Waterford Crossing. She had been in failing health the past five weeks.
She was born January 9, 1917 in Goshen to Albert and Arvilla (Blough) Rieth.
On May 10, 1941 she married William S. Jessup in Goshen. He died April 22, 1981.
Survivors include three sons, Bill (Karen) Jessup of Goshen, David (Judy) Jessup of Marine, Minnesota and James (Mary Ellen) Jessup of Excelsior, Minnesota; 11 grandchildren, Connie (Jim) Begly, Cheryl (Ron) Stichter, Fred (Meri) Jessup, Chrissy (Matt) Jarvis, Julie Anderson, Pam (Don) Jessup, Jill (Kevin) Unterreiner, Matt (Sandy) Scheel, Nancy Jessup, Nathan Jessup and Neil Jessup; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a daughter, Nancy Jessup, and seven siblings, Herbert, Mary, Blair, Lee, Bill and Richard Rieth and Rose Whitmer.
A lifelong Goshen resident, Mrs. Jessup graduated from Goshen High School in 1935 and attended Purdue University. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Goshen, where she volunteered in many church activities.
She was a former member of a bridge club and PSI-Iota. She volunteered with Head Start and helped children learn to read at local elementary schools. She also fixed and delivered many meals for others.
Friends may call Monday, December 21, 2015 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home and one hour prior to the funeral service.
A Tuesday, December 22, 2015 funeral service will begin at 10:30 a.m. at First United Methodist Church, Goshen.
Burial will follow in Violett Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given to First United Methodist Church or Goshen Care at Home Hospice.
