Frances R. Gundy, 87, of Goshen, died early Thursday morning, December 28, 2006, at Goshen General Hospital. She was born on May 16, 1919, in Smithville, Ohio, to Alvin and Mary Ellen (Schrock) Ramseyer. She married Donald G. Gundy on April 18, 1943, in Weeping Water, Nebraska. He passed away on February 16, 1987. A resident of the area since 2000, Mrs. Gundy worked as an elementary school teacher in Allen County schools. She is survived by four sons, Larry (Barbara) Gundy of Fremont, Ohio, George (Kim) Gundy of Kokomo, Indiana; Ralph (Jykla) of Fort Collins, Colorado and Duane (Carolyn) Gundy of Vandalia, Michigan; 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two sister, Esther Miller of Mission, Texas and Phyllis Miller of Goshen, Indiana; and two brothers, Alvin Ramseyer and Arden Ramseyer, both of Smithville, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; a son, Dean Gundy; and four sisters, Irene Musser, Edna Kaufman, Erma Johnson, and Mary Kay Gerig. Friends will be received 1 - 2 p.m., Sunday, January 14, at the church. A 2:00 memorial service will be held at the Eighth Street Mennonite Church on January 14, 2007. Pastors Kevin Farmwald and Brenda Sawatsky Paetkau will officiate.
