Fontaine M. Strycker, 83, of Goshen, died early Monday afternoon, September 10, 2012, at Greencroft Healthcare. She was born September 3, 1929 in Middlebury to Lester and Lola (Dunlap) Caton. She married Richard E. Strycker, March 12, 1950 in Middlebury. He died December 27, 1999. She is survived by a daughter, Susanne (Michael) Miller of Avondale, Penn.; a son, Michael R. (Patricia) Strycker of Goshen; seven grandchildren, Christopher Miller, Elizabeth Miller-Schaff, Andrew Strycker, Katelyn J. Strycker, Jason R. Strycker, Rachel Cook and Matthew Cook; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Maxine Coddens of Elkhart and a brother, Harold (Mary) Caton of Middlebury. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Matthew Richard Miller in 1997 and a brother, Robert Caton in 1945 during World War II. A lifelong resident of the area, Mrs. Strycker graduated from Middlebury High School in 1948 and South Bend Beauty School. She worked for several beauty shops. She was a homemaker and a member of Goshen City Church of the Brethren. Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, September 13, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home where an 11 a.m., Friday, September 14, 2012, funeral service will be conducted. Pastor Bev Weaver and Tim Yoder will officiate. Burial will follow in Violett Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be made to Goshen City Church of the Brethren or to the Matthew Miller Scholarship Fund at the Boys & Girls Club of Delaware, 669 S. Union, Wilmington, DE 19805.
